I got complete treatment for hair and nails in the salon. I enjoyed the moment my scalp and shoulders were gently massaged. A fragrant and soft scent wafted from my hair after the hairdresser finished her task. My nails were clean and glowing. I asked my nails to be painted with pink so the color would not too contrast with the color of my clothes tonight.
Arriving home, I only had a few minutes before my husband came home. I hurriedly showered and changed clothes. When Hendra came home, I immediately greeted him. He kissed me and held my hand as he walked toward our room. While Hendra was showering, I prepared the clothes that he requested.
Half an hour later, we were already in the car. Hendra drove the vehicle out of our yard, Kafin was not coming with us. The drive to the restaurant was smooth. We could drive pass the traffic without encountering long traffic jams. Entering the downtown area, we were forced to move slowly. Nearly twenty minutes, we spent to search for a vacant parking lot inside the mall. After parking the car, Hendra turned off the engine and got out of the car first. He turned around and opened the car door for me. I accepted his helping hand.
Inside the elevator, we did not need to bump each other body since there were not many people using it. Arriving at the destination floor, we walked past store after store until we reached the restaurant. Hendra mentioned his own name to a waiter. She accompanied us to the table that had been ordered. I smiled at my husband because we got a table right in front of the stage.
I ordered my favorite food. One large piece of meat with three different spices and one large glass of beer. Hendra smiled and ordered the same thing. When the waiter left us, I looked around with enthusiasm. My eyes rounded as several people climbed onto the stage. I looked at Hendra. He just smiled secretively. It was a seldom thing for a band to perform not on the weekend. Intrigued, I saw those five men and a woman as they preparing the musical instruments and sound system.
I was distracted when a waiter delivered our drink. He took a sip of his beer and murmured softly to praise it delicacy. The special beer made by this restaurant was very delicious and did not contain too much alcohol. The only beer that did not make me sick when I smelled the aroma. The music began to play. I rounded my eyes as I recognized the opening music.
“Hendra, this is my favorite song.” I said quietly.
“I know.” He smiled at me.
After the first two songs were played, our food was delivered. I smiled happily at the meat in front of me, accompanied by fine potatoes and lettuce. We ate in silence while enjoying the songs the band played on stage.
“Ah, this song!” I exclaimed delightedly. Hendra chuckled.
I looked at my husband intensely. Five songs already played and all of them were my favorite. It was not an accident nor luck. Surely, Hendra had ordered everything in particular. Every time we ate at this restaurant, the band that was performing always played different songs. Rarely did they played my favorite songs, every single one of them.
“You requested all of the songs?” I asked incredulously. He smiled as he agreed. “But why you don’t add one of your favorite songs? It’s our wedding day, not just my birthday.”
“I requested it, then I was the one who might choose the songs.” He replied meaningfully.
“Thank you, Hendra. It’s a very pleasant surprise.” I said sincerely. He took my hand that on the table.
“Anything to make you happy, love.”
The waiters came to pick up our empty dishes. Then they brought a plate of two blackforest slices with Happy Anniversary was written on the edge of the plate using strawberry sauce. The band sang a wedding song for us. I smiled happily. At the end of the song, people in the restaurant applauded as they were looking at us curiously.
When the atmosphere calmed down, I stood up and went up on stage. I whispered something to the singer and smiled as I took the microphone she offered me. Hendra looked at me in confusion. The opening song was played and my husband shook his head. I sang one of his favorite songs. The song he sang for me on our wedding day.
The band’s singer grabbed Hendra’s hand and pulled him to the stage. The song was a duet song, so singing it alone was not easy. With that woman’s persuasion, my husband was willing to go to the stage and sing along with me.
Applause filled the restaurant when we ended the duet. After thanking them all, we got off the stage. Hendra helped me to sit before he sat back on his chair. We enjoyed our blackforest pieces each.
“How about we’re going on vacation this weekend?” Hendra asked.
“Agreed.” I said gladly. Going on vacation to a new place was a wonderful thing for me. In addition to enjoying the scenery and facilities they offered, I could make an article about the sights.
“Do you have any idea where we should go this time?” He asked. I thought about it for a moment, there were still many great places we had not visited. Where should we go this time? My husband chuckled. “Take your time. You can tell me this Friday morning. Booking tickets and hotels won’t be difficult even in the last seconds. ”
“Okay.” I said joyfully. He really did understand me.
